Husband and wife duo Driven Snow have released their fourth single this year, I Wasn’t Looking For You (19 June), ahead of their second album release and an autumn date in Kilkenny.
Kieran McGuinness (Delorentos) and Emily Aylmer (Republic of Loose) are bound for Cleere’s Theatre on 29 October, bringing their dreamy pop tunes and vocal harmonies one of Kilkenny and Ireland’s best-loved venues.
At its heart, I Wasn’t Looking For You is about the unexpected turns life can take. Swept along by events beyond your control, you look back and realise that, despite all the what-ifs, every moment led you to where you are now, and you wouldn’t change a thing.

“This is our biggest and most emotional song to date,” reflects McGuinness.
“And we struggled to understand how to make it work as a two-piece song. We needed to bring Tommy McLaughlin (Producer), Geoff Warner-Clayton (Piano and Kilkenny native) and Lorcan Byrne (Drums) into the process to unlock it, and now it’s one of our proudest moments and a real centrepiece of the album!”
Recorded and mixed by Tommy McLaughlin (Villagers, Soak, Altan, Ailbhe Reddy) at his Attica Studios base in the wilds of Donegal, and mastered by Richard Dowling (WAV Mastering), the single lays the groundwork for forthcoming studio album Mother of Christ, alongside already released singles Dawn Chorus, Knots and Slowly, Gently.
Tickets for their Cleere’s show in October are priced €20 and can be booked online here.
Ahead of that gig, you’ll also be able to see them live at this year’s Forest Fest (24 July) with additional dates in September and October to back the nwe album.
