Kilkenny County Council have announced a series of public consultation evenings exploring a new 10-year arts strategy for the county.
The strategy, the Council say, will “support us, as an organisation, to sustain and strengthen artist activity throughout the city and county, ensuring Kilkenny’s position as a centre for excellence for the arts and a successful and thriving arts environment.”
It is hoped that insights gathered from the consultation process will help identify current needs, opportunities and challenges across the broad spectrum of the arts locally, ultimately informing a strategy that is “inclusive, responsive, and reflective of the rich cultural life of our communities.”
Four events are being staged next week, all open to the public so you can have your say, ask questions and help feed into the direction of the strategy.
- Monday 15 June: Piltown Community Centre, 5-7pm
- Tuesday 16 June: Kilkenny City (The Parade), 12-2pm, 3-4pm, 5-6pm
- Wednesday 17 June: Graignamanagh Library, 10-12.30pm
- Wednesday 17 June: Castlecomer Library, 2-4.30pm
You’ll find more details of events happening on the local arts scene through the Kilkenny Arts Office blog.
