Singer-songwriter Dave Lofts, described recently as Ireland’s answer to Teddy Swims, will be in Kilkenny this weekend to mark the launch of his debut EP, Holy.
With a vinyl, CD and digital release via B-Unique Records, Holy is out today, and Lofts will be performing this bank holiday Monday at Golden Discs in Market Cross from 2pm as part of a four-venue tour for tunes, chats and signing ahead of his appearance in Kilkenny this September. As of Thursday, there were just about 20 tickets left for his show at Kilkenny’s Set Theatre, scheduled for Friday 25 September.

It’s been something of a breakout year for the Waterford-based, Wicklow-born performer, 2026 cementing himself on the radar of Ireland’s emerging talents, backed by raw, powerful live performances. The popularity continues on streaming services too with the single release of Holy in March of this year already racking up over three million plays, similar territory too for his cover of Sam Fender’s Seventeen Going Under.
His in-store performance in Kilkenny this weekend is part of a bank holiday run around the south east that takes in Golden Discs Waterford (2pm Saturday), Golden Discs Wexford (2pm Sunday) and Market Cross (2pm Monday). The final stop on the in-store tour takes in Dublin’s Spin Dizzy Records at 6pm on Thursday 5 August.
Fresh from performances at Forest Fest and Heat Wave (Laois and Waterford) last weekend, Lofts has dates this August at the Revival Music Festival in Listowel (15 August) before heading to the UK for the Moseley Folk & Arts Festival in Birmingham on 4 September.
From there, it’s a mini Irish tour beginning at Cork’s Cyprus Avenue (12 September), taking in Ulster Sports Club (Belfast, 17 September), Dolan’s Warehouse (Limerick, 18 September), Set Theatre (Kilkenny, 25 September, tickets €24) and Galway’s Róisín Dubh (26 September). 2027 is already looking like starting with a bang with tickets on sale now for a headline show at Dublin’s 3Olympia on Saturday 20 February.
