Have you children at home or in school who are keen to start on a traditional Irish music journey?
If so, and you happen to be near to or in the surrounds of Castlecomer, you might be interested to hear that Music Generation Kilkenny have announced a new traditional Irish music hub and ensemble for north Kilkenny.
Kicking off Monday 19 April, the hub and ensemble will run for ten weeks, every Monday after school, for those aged 7-12 years.
With indoor gatherings still restricted, this will be online initially before moving to in-person sessions and practice at the Courthouse, Castlecomer. If you play the fiddle, bodhrán, whistle or banjo or you’re looking to try something new, you can register your interest here.
It’s small group tuition, with a small group session €80, the ensemble €55 or trad bundle €120 (weekly session plus ensemble). Fees are for ten weeks.
