Le Galaxie are bringing Apocalypse Now back to life.
Teaming up with Smithwick’s for their Soundtrack Series, Le Galaxie are back to Kilkenny with a bang. It all takes place this weekend, Saturday night, at Billy Byrne’s.
Thanks to the Smithwick’s hook-up, it’s just a tenner for a ticket and a pint.
What the hell is Apocalypse Now?
The Francis Ford Coppola directed war movie is in a league of its own. Helicopters. Ride of the Valkyries into Vietnam. Martin Sheen, Marlon Brando, Robert Duval, Dennis Hopper and more.
The Door’s ‘The End’, Satisfaction (Rolling Stones), Ride of the Valykyries, Surfin’ Safari and more adorn the original soundtrack.
Hollywood loved it at the time, the movie scoring 8 Oscar nominations. It stars Martin Sheen as Army Captain Willard. He’s a troubled man, sent on a dangerous and mesmerizing odyssey into Cambodia. The mission? To assassinate a renegade American colonel named Kurtz (Marlon Brando). Which is grand, except he’s succumbed to the horrors of war and barricaded himself in a remote outpost.
While Le Galaxie have been doing the rounds with Apocalypse Now, BARQ have been putting their stamp on Pulp Fiction. We’re promised an exciting live music experience for film and music lovers alike, complete with a pint of Smithwick’s for good measure
