It’s Saturday at the Kilkenny Roots Festival and things are stepping up a notch with Michael Nau, Birds of Chicago and more on the way.

Seamus Fogarty and guests got the festival underway last night.  With the likes of Michael Nau (pictured) and Bennett, Wilson Poole also on Friday, it’s now on to day two. Nau’s show in Ryan’s was a sell-out and so too is his lunchtime show for Cleere’s at 1pm.

There’s the first of two sold out shows from Birds Of Chicago to look forward to. Darlingside, Prinz Grizzley and Whitney Rose are also among the day’s premium artists.

On the free Smithwick’s Music Trail you’ll find early gigs from TV Jones & The Tomahawks, Villiers and The Villains and Goat Roper Rodeo Band. Late freebies include Niall Toney, Beef Supreme, duo Jezzebelle and more.

Oh, and if you missed Seamus Fogarty last night, you *might* get a ticket for his 2pm show today.
