If you’re planning on getting your event into this year’s AKA Fringe Festival programme, the deadline is fast approaching.

Submissions for inclusion in this year’s print programme must be in by 31 May – this Thursday.

In its first three years AKA has proven to be a vital addition to Kilkenny’s festival calendar. AKA is a collaboration of people living in Kilkenny who have an interest in the arts.

Running August 2nd to 19th, it offers a platform for the various different creative talent in the city and county as well as a diverse, alternative programme of national and international work.

Online submissions can be made up until July 30th by visiting akafringe.com.

First Announcements: RSAG, Arborist & John Blek on the programme

The first music announcements for this year’s festival have also been made.

Local hero RSAG will be playing Billy Byrnes on John Street (11 August), John Blek will be headlining in Ryan’s Bar on the same night and the highly acclaimed Arborist will play Cleere’s Theatre (3 August).

More announcements for theatre, visual art, craft and this year’s literature strand will be made in the coming weeks.

Missing this week’s deadline doesn’t mean you miss the festival, but will leave you out of the print programme which will be available from venues around Kilkenny across the summer.
