In a stroke of good news for lovers of comedy, music and the arts, this year’s AKA Fringe – AKA006 – will be going ahead in August.
Organisers announced the first festival details on Friday with the annual alternative celebration of the arts going hybrid, mixing online and live events where public health guidelines will permit them.
To aid with development, an online open consultation will be held at 7pm on Friday 30 April.
“We want to hear your ideas on how the festival can work in the current climate, and how the festival can best facilitate your activities. We can’t promise the world, but we want to try our best. We are starved of art! And we miss the AKA Community. Let’s get together and see what magic we can make happen”, said a statement on the festival’s Facebook page.
Free registration is available through EventBrite with the consultation being held over Zoom.
Submissions for this year’s festival will open on Saturday 1 May.
