Christian Cohle, Set Theatre

As we hit the middle of February, Christian Cohle has made his recorded Set Theatre show his album release show as part of Set’s online concert series.

If you’re a fan of James Blake, Wild Beasts and Anohni, so says Labyrinth, you’re in for a stunning visual and aural treat with Christian Cohle’s set at Set.

Said album, Holy Trouble, has already been described as ‘breathtaking’ (Across The Line_, ‘monolithic in its electronic atmospherics’ (The Last Mixed Tape) and an album that ‘has lived up to the hype that precedes it’ (Golden Plec).

All going to plan, he’s on the live gig circuit this December supporting Columbia Mills at The Button Factory (Dublin) on 3 December.

Soak it all in.

Cohle on Holy Trouble

“Holy Trouble started off as a means of reference to me, a self-exploration and an honest expression of who I was during those years.”

“I was wading through what felt like waves of dilemmas in my life. I had no idea what I was doing, but I was trying my best, and that always gave me some solace. All in all, it was a time of letting go, acknowledging my pain, my fears and my imperfections, and just eventually learning to move forward.”

“I really hope it connects with you. Let me know. I’d love to hear from you all.”

Let him know what you think here.

Visuals for the Set show are courtesy of Bearfoot and Geppetto; lighting design by Conor Biddle and sound from Thomas Donoghue.
