Mick Flannery is set for a return to Kilkenny this summer.
By the time the gig comes around, it will be the best part of two years since Flannery has played a full show in Kilkenny.
He’ll be kept pretty busy between now and then all the same. His latest tour got underway in Belgium on Saturday night, continuing through May with a rake of dates across Netherlands and Germany. There’s a few shows in the UK before heading Stateside in July, wrapping up in Boston, MA on 19 July.
A home away from home
Mick’s most recent albums were written in Berlin, a move the man himself refers to as “self-imposed exile”.
His current album I Own You, sees Mick deal with broader issues than previous work including themes of social injustice and inequality. Mick currently lives in County Clare, Ireland where he is working on his sixth studio album.
I Own You (2016) followed on from By The Rule (2014), Red To Blue (2012), White Lies (2008) and Evening Train (2005).
