The Riptide Movement will headline this year’s Kilkenny Outdoor Music Festival.
Heading into its third year, the one-day festival is coming out of the traps swinging, with Hothouse Flowers also confirmed for this summer. Put 14 July in your diaries.
The 2018 outing takes place at Erins Own GAA grounds once more with the Castlecomer club looking to build on the success of the first two years.
The Riptide Movement will bring the likes of All Works Out, Skull & Crossbones, Elephant In The Room, Getting Through and more to Castlecomer. The band are kicking off their Coast To Coast Irish tour (performing at coastal venues) for this summer with a launch show at Twenty Two (Dublin) on Friday 9 March.
Who’s played the Kilkenny Outdoor Music Festival?
July 2016 saw Delorentos top the bill on a day that included performances from Paddy Dennehy & The Red Herring and Amy McAllister. For 2017 it was the turn of Amber & The Bear, Chasing Abbey, Paddy Casey and The Blizzards.
Who joins The Riptide Movement?
As announced on Tuesday evening, the main support act will be Irish favourites (with Kilkenny connections) Hothouse Flowers along with genre-hopping Dublin quintet Oski Bravo. DJ WELSHY joins the bill too with organisers promising the lineup as “the best yet”. Tickets will be on sale in the coming weeks.
