Live music, thankfully, is no longer going to be confined to outdoor settings or large capacity venues, starting Monday.
Covid-19 restrictions around entertainment and organised events begin to ease from 6 September which will see venues available to offer 60% capacity indoors or 75% capacity outdoors for fully vaccinated attendees.
Where events are deemed “mixed immunity” i.e. audience members are mixed between those who have had Covid vaccines or not, capacity is limited to 50%.
While you can dance at a wedding, indoor gigs have to remain seated for the foreseeable, or at least until 22 October when the majority of remaining restrictions will be lifted.
This summer we’ve seen gigs return to Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre, the Set Theatre, Ryan’s beer garden, the Watergate (via Kilkenny Arts Festival) and now Cleere’s Bar & Theatre on Parliament Street get the chance to bring fans back to a programme of live music, comedy, theatre and spoken word.
