There’s plenty of gigs in Kilkenny this month to sink your teeth into.
We’ve picked out some of our “go to” shows for the month of February and there’s a real mix to enjoy.
February 10: Willy Vlautin at Cleere’s

No stranger to Kilkenny and familiar to anyone who has graced the Kilkenny Roots Festival in the last number of years. Portland’s Willy Vlautin has not one, but two shows in on the same day. Both are seated. The 9pm show may be sold out, but you might nab a ticket for the 5pm show. €17.
February 10: Le Galaxie at Billy Byrne’s
Le Galaxie are bringing a re-imagined version of the Apocalypse Now soundtrack to Billy Byrne’s on John Street. If you’ve not seen Le Galaxie in action before you’ll be in for a real treat. €10 gets you a ticket and a pint.
February 13: Eddi Reader at The Watergate Theatre
There have been great gigs in Kilkenny at the Watergate in recent months. If Willy Vlautin is no stranger to Kilkenny, the same can be said for Eddi Reader. Making her now annual pilgrimage to the Marble City, Reader returns the Watergate Theatre. One of Scotland’s “greatest national treasures”. Tickets €21 plus booking fee.
February 18: Anna Mitchell at Cleere’s
Anna Mitchell returns to Kilkenny and Cleere’s. Her self-titled second album dropped on 19 January. Her Kilkenny date comes in at the tail end of the album launch tour. Tickets only €10 from Cleere’s, Marie Danielle supports.
February 23: Izumi Kimura, Barry Guy, Gerry Hemingway at The Heritage Council
Finally, something different for gigs in Kilkenny this February. Music In Kilkenny welcome pianist Izumi Kimura, bassist Barry Guy and percussionist Gerry Hemingway to The Heritage Council. Supported by the Arts Council. Tickets €15/10 with a 7.30pm start.
